Corazon Cory Aquino died at Makati Medical Center through a cardiorespiratory arrest

Philippines – August 1, 2009 at 3:18 A.M. Saturday, Corazon Cory Aquino died at Makati Medical Center through a cardio-respiratory arrest. Cory Aquino died because of a complications in colon cancer. Corazon Aquino’s death was broadcast on a early news in ABS-CBN channel 2, GMA news 7, other network, radio and in the internet. In Malacanang, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo also gave a message to the family for Cory Aquino’s death.

Maria Corazon Cory Cojuangco Aquino is her full name. Corazon Cory Aquino was born in Tarlac on January 25, 1933. Cory Aquino parents are Jose Cojuangco and Demetria Sumulong who belongs to the richest and well known Filipino Chinese-mestizo families in the Philippines. Cory Aquino spent his grade school days at St. Scholastica’s College Manila, then studied in Assumption Convent Manila when she was in High School but it only took her a year because she was transferred and studied abroad.

Cory Aquino was married to Benigno Servillano “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. and blessed them with five children who’s names are Benigno Simeon Aquino III, Maria Elena Aquino Cruz, Aurora Corazon Aquino Abellada, Victoria Eliza Aquino Dee and Kristina Bernadette Aquino Yap.

Cory Aquino led the 1986 People Power Revolution that gave the Filipino people their freedom back. Cory Aquino sworn for President that makes her the First Woman President to be elected in Asia and called as the Mother of Democracy. Her true legacy to the Philippines will be her undoubted success in presiding over a peaceful transfer of power in a region where no ruler had voluntarily relinquished control since 1964. Corozan Aquino will be forever enshrined in the minds of all Filipinos as a national symbol of “People Power”.
